Silversprings Care Home, Thorrington
Silversprings is a new care home surrounded by large, safe landscaped gardens which are easily accessible for residents. Each resident has their own light and airy en-suite bedroom furnished and decorated to a high standard. Residents are encouraged to bring their own treasured possessions with them when they move in so they can settle into their new home effortlessly.
The home is split into three suites, each with its own spacious lounge and dining room providing a quieter environment, while the focal point of Silversprings is the beautiful communal lounge and dining room with superb views of the garden.
The landscaped gardens include a vegetable garden and large sensory garden as well as nature walks around the grounds that are suitable for wheelchair users. There are a selection of birds and animals around the grounds to provide animal therapy including ducks, chickens and doves. This also adds to the experience for residents’ family and friends visiting Silversprings and will provide an appealing environment for grandchildren to visit.

Dementia care
One of the suites has been set up specifically to enhance the quality of life of residents with dementia. It introduces enabling elements into their daily life such as:

Personal room indicators including memory boxes holding personal items

Bathroom imagery on the doors and toilet doors painted the same colour

Toilet seats a different colour to the pan making it easier for people with reduced visibility to see and to distinguish one from the other

Crockery in a different colour to the table linen
